Si Proches by Emeric Gallego

Emeric Gallego is a young, award-winning photographer from Paris that focuses on portraits and travel.

All of his photos are taken with natural light and instantly. Each moment remains engraved in this photographic journey through authentic memories. Emeric prefers to use natural lighting so as not to spoil the authenticity of his subjects.

"Si Proches" (Precious Moments) is his first exhibition. Its theme is the photographic journey.

I took this trip to Denmark, on an island by the name of Fano, it was very therapeutic. The photo series represents a walk in a vast place where nature takes back its rights, where anxiety disappears and nature is in harmony. Fano is only inhabited during its traditional kite festival. Beyond that, it is almost empty. This heavy loneliness is the result of this photo series that encourages us to travel, dream and remember a world without technology.”

Emeric Gallego started diving into photography when he was in high school. He followed friends to music concerts, and loved taking pictures of landscapes. Emeric only started to take photography as a job in photography from 2019 when he became a freelance photographer.

I never really studied photography. I learned everything on the field, with a Canon 700D and a small Lumix GH4. The pro equipment only came after…”

Emeric isn't completely knew to the field, he has a master degree in film studies. He directed a few international award-winning short films. However, his real passion is photography.

Precious Moments (Si proches) is his first photography exhibit.

What does being feature on le freak media mean to you?

“Sending this series of portraits to Le Freak Media is a great pleasure. It also represents an opportunity for me to expand the audience of my photos and to discover new works in my turn. If someone could discover his photographs, forget worries for just a moment and give myself time to dream, I will know that I have accomplished my mission.”
