Letizia Firmani

Founder & CEO

Letizia Firmani is a 26 year old Italian artist, who moved to Canada from Italy in 2013. She enjoys experimenting with several mediums, but she would say photography is how she prefers to express herself. After her move to Canada, she majored in photography and graduated from Seneca College of Applied Arts and Communication in 2016.

Her work is strongly influenced by classical art, and MAGNUM photographers such as Josef Koudelka. The contrast between defined classical beauty and an impactful image as they come together to tell their story, can be very inspirational.

She plans most of her work in black and white. Her interest for light and dark goes back to her Italian roots as Caravaggio, is one of her favourite painters. Her mother inspired her love for visual art and classical painters. She feels quite fortunate to have had the opportunity to grow up surrounded by art in every shape and form. Her work explores the relationship between critical theory and emotional memories; everything she creates is to express her emotions and retell her experiences.

After several years in the industry, she realized there was a lack of community between creators and realized how competitive this world is for emerging artists. This is where Le Freak Media comes in. She wanted there to be a place that celebrates art and the artist. She wishes this to become a healthy and positive space that motivates others to continue their passions, and to share them with the world.
